Updates from Odyssey Coach Sales

Seen following collection from GB Coaches in Manchester is this pair of Scania Irizar PBs which were about to head off for Cairnryan following a hearty breakfast for the team from Causeway Coaches at Olive’s Caff! Once back in Co. Antrim they will settle down with Enis and his team at Causeway Coaches and hopefully give as good a service there as they have over the past few years for Dave and his team at GB. This sale completes a hat trick of collections this week for Odyssey Coach Sales.

When Steve Keats found himself in need of a back up vehicle for his small fleet of coaches in Sheffield he looked no further than Odyssey Coach Sales. We found the ideal vehicle in the good old reliable Volvo B10M Plaxton combination. Still going strong after 23 years is this Premiere 350 which benefits from a capacity of 57 seats and a ZF automatic gearbox. Steve drove up to County Durham from Sheffield, inspected the coach, and took it away the same afternoon, job done. Remember at Odyssey Coach Sales whether you’re spending £3,000 or £300,000 your business is equally important to us and we will try our absolute utmost to find a vehicle to suit your needs.

One of our first sales of 2019 is this 15m Volvo B12BT 71 Seat Plaxton Panther from Regency Coaches in Lewes, East Sussex. The vehicle has passed to DESI Coaches of Watford. This sale has been a little bit protracted as Nilesh at DESI had a requirement for a high capacity coach but didn’t have the yard space to accommodate such a beast. They have recently moved to a new site in Watford which has allowed them to move forward with their purchase. Hopefully the new purchase will allow them to grow their expanding business and the new premises will allow further expansion. Good luck guys and………………………………………watch those back corners!

One of our first handovers of the new year is this immaculate Volvo B10M Van Hool 53 Seat Coach. Originally with Shearings, N710 UVR has spent the last few years with Price Coaches in Wrexham but has now headed south for an early retirement on the Isle of Wight with old established operator Sea View Services. Whilst it will mainly run around the Island it will still cross the Solent occasionally for a jaunt on the mainland. We wish Phil and the team at Sea View lots of luck with their new purchase and for the New Year.

Another recent sale is of this former Wallace Arnold Grand Tourer to Crawley Luxury Coaches. Now upseated to 49 seats with an option to go to 51 this Volvo B12M Jonckheere Mistral still retains it’s cream leather interior from it’s touring days which is still in very good order after 16 years. Formerly with Viking Travel of Heywood, Greater Manchester who kept it in pristine condition it was deliver to Oxford Services where it was collected by Darren Brown, Managing Director of Crawley Luxury who will be using it on a variety of work in their local area. Thanks go to Adam Warburton and the team at Viking for kindly agreeing to deliver the coach down to Oxford.

We have recently supplied this Mini Pointer Dart to A to B Travel Ltd of Luton, Beds. They were in need of a service bus of a certain size for a private car park shuttle at Luton Airport and we just happened to have one for sale. The plan is to reduce the seating capacity to 23 and add some additional baggage space. Hopefully, this’ll give this little bus a nice easy semi-retirement. The little bus was sourced from GB Coaches in Manchester and delivered by Mansfield Recovery to Luton. Thanks to Rachel Rees-Smith at A to B for her custom, Dave Bolton and his team at GB Coaches for MOT testing the bus prior to sale, and to Mansfield’s for their assistance in delivering the bus.

One of our latest sales has seen two more Tyrer’s Tridents head south to Essex and a new life with Tendring Travel near Colchester. Once again these immaculate deckers have served an immediate need for another operator who has been searching for the right deckers for a while now, only to be disappointed with what he’s found. Pictured at Tyrer’s with their two new purchases are Mark Bone, proprietor of Tendring Travel, along with his Dad Ron. What this does mean though is that there’s now only one of these belted Tridents left. Form an orderly queue!

We recently delivered this Plaxton Pointer bodied Dennis Dart to it’s new home in Hartlepool to start an easy life as site transport with Able UK Ltd. Able UK specialise in demolition, decommissioning and recycling of marine structures and vessels including frigates and aircraft carriers. The little bus will be used to transport staff around Able’s large site at Seaton Port in Teesside. The vehicle was sourced from GB Coaches of Levenshulme, Manchester and transported to it’s new home by Manchester Breakdown Services. Thanks go to the staff at both companies for their assistance in helping this sale go through smoothly.

One of our latest deals see this tri-axle Scania Irizar PB head back from whence it came. New to Allan’s of Gorebridge this beautifully presented Scania has been with Tyrer’s for a good few years but is now heading back to Scotland for further service with Keenan’s of Ayr. Seen here are Euan and Dougie from Keenan’s collecting the coach from Chorley prior to it’s journey back to Scotland. Thanks to Jamie Keenan for his business and to the guys at Team Tyrers for ensuring that another vehicle is in pristine condition prior to sale.

One of our latest sales was of this immaculate Short Wheelbase Dennis Dart with unusual East Lancs Spryte bodywork to Lakeside Coaches of Ellesmere, Shropshire. Whist predominantly a Coach Operator, Lakeside operates a small network of bus services in the Oswestry, Wem, and Whitchurch areas. When they found themselves in need of a spare / back up bus this little DDA compliant Dart was exactly what they were looking for, and the unexpected bonus was it’s green moquette matches Lakeside’s two tone green and white livery. Whilst the Dart was collected last week I took the opportunity to call in and ensure it had settled in and grabbed a quick photograph with Neal Hall, Managing Director of Lakeside. The vehicle was supplied by Tyrer’s Coaches of Chorley, Lancs and presented to the [...]
