Last Minute Tourismo Purchase for Kirby’s

Earlier this week we were contacted by Simon Kirby of well known Essex operator Kirby’s Coaches of Rayleigh. Due to a sale falling through he had an urgent requirement for a Euro 6 Mercedes Tourismo. It just so happened that we had access to this 2014 model which was ready to go. Being a long time Setra operator the Tourismo is a natural progression for Kirby’s and this one will fit right in to the fleet. It’s fitted with 49 Luxline Seats trimmed in Half Leather, 3 Point Seat Belts, Wood Effect Floor, and 8 Speed Powershift Gearbox. The Coach will be used on a variety of work including Kirby’s own extensive day excursion and tour programme. Thanks to Simon and Karen of Kirby’s for their purchase, and to Steve Orchard of S O Coaches in Manchester for releasing the vehicle at such short notice.

This picture was taken in October last year when we helped Debbie at Mikro Coaches out when she needed a double decker at short notice. She was so impressed with her purchase that she’s come back for another and luckily she was just in time as we had the last one of 6 available. Interestingly enough all 6 have ended up in pairs with their new owners. Hopefully she’ll be as happy with this one as she was with the first!

I do like a deal on a sunny day, and today we handed over this immaculate Volvo B10M Van Hool T9 Alizee supplied by Tyrer’s Coaches to Rayner’s Coaches from County Durham. This well cared for T9 has gone full circle and headed home to the North east where it started it’s life. It was new to Tynedale Coaches in Northumberland and other than a front face lift not a lot has changed since then. Rayner’s will use this on a mixture of work in County Durham and beyond. Pictured collecting the coach from Darren is Adam Rayner and his gorgeous 2 year old son Jake who is already bus daft! Good Luck with your new purchase and hopefully Jake’ll get a go once he can reach the pedals.

The end of March signifies the end of our first year’s trading at Odyssey Coach Sales. Our target when we commenced our little business was to move a vehicle per week. Well we’ve smashed it! A quick tally up and we’ve sold a grand total of 119 vehicles. Not a mean feat in the current climate. In my 30 years in the industry I don’t think I’ve ever known an industry so unsure of which way to turn. With the ULEZ just about upon us, and CAZs threatened countrywide, along with the farce that is currently playing out regarding Brexit it’s not the most stable time to be investing so I’m really proud of our achievement. I believe our hands on attitude and personal service have helped make us so successful in such a short space of time. Pictured here is Mark Brook, Managing Director of Yelloway Coaches [...]
