Today we called in to Williams of Brecon to follow up on their recent purchase. Initially this may seem like any other National Express Levante but it isn’t. This is a Mercedes OC500 Caetano CT650 and has a number of subtle differences to the standard NX offering. It has a centre sunken WC, centre continental door, vogel conturo seats, and most importantly considerably lower mileage. This particular one was sourced from Moving People in Oswaldtwistle, Lancs who kindly delivered it to Neale and his team at Blackpool Coach Services who painted it in Williams Cream. As the race for PSVAR compliance gathers pace operators are finding it more and more difficult to source suitable vehicles. We have recently supplied Lakeland Commercials of Kendal with this PSVAR compliant VDL SB200 Plaxton Centro bus. This vehicle has 45 semi high back seats fitted with 3 point seat belts and is fitted with a digital tachograph. There is also provision for 26 standees giving it a capacity of 71 passengers. Power comes from a Cummins engine driven through a Voith fully automatic gearbox. The vehicle was supplied by Atlantic Travel UK in Bolton. The latest purchase by R&J Travel from Moreton on The Wirral is this Yutong TC12 51 Seat Executive Coach. R&J have operated a fleet of predominantly mini and midi coaches until recently dipping their toes in the larger coach market. Richard and Jane were looking for a vehicle to modernise their fleet and this 5 year old TC12 was perfect. Supplied by Llew Jones Coaches of Llanrwst, North Wales the vehicle benefits from a Euro 5 Cummins Engine, ZF Ecolife Automatic Gearbox, Alloy Wheels, Air Conditioning, On Board WC, Hot Drinks Facility, 240v Sockets, Reclining and Sidways Moving Seats. Pictured here is this 2002 Mercedes Benz Touro 49 Seat Executive Coach having just arrived at Southampton Docks on a cold December evening. By now it should be off to it’s new much warmer home in Cyprus and should arrive in Limassol just before Christmas. The coach was supplied by Angel Travel based near Peterborough. It was presented immaculately and drove like a dream to Southampton considering she’s 17 years old. Hopefully her new owner CMA Taxi Services will be as happy with her as her previous owner once she crosses the Mediterranean. Returning customer E Coaches of Alfreton, Derbyshire is the proud new owner of this Temsa Opalin 35 Seat Midicoach. Following some recent tender wins after the collapse of Your Bus Kieron found himself with a requirement for a midicoach with more than the normal 33 seats. We had this immaculate little Temsa Opalin available from the Yelloway Coaches fleet which I knew wouldn’t be around for long. This was perfect and following an inspection and test drive Kieron agreed a deal. The coach comes with 35 reclining seats with bright yellow 3 point seat belts, an advantage for checking everyone is wearing theirs, air conditioning, huge luggage capacity for it’s size, and is powered by a MAN engine driven through a Voith Automatic gearbox and has covered less than 150,000 kms from new! We have recently supplied HM Coaches of Ennis, Co. Clare with this Mercedes Benz Vario Plaxton Cheetah 33 Seat Midicoach. We sourced this vehicle from JH Coaches of Birtley, Tyne & Wear and is the second of their Cheetahs to make the journey across the Irish Sea. This little Vario was in exceptional condition for it’s age and has benefitted from a recent re-trim by West Coast Trim which included leather piping & headrest inserts. At the end of last week we concluded a deal with Byrne Transport of Co. Tyrone, Northern Ireland. They are a big fan of Volvo powered Van Hools and have just recently sold a 2006 49 seat example. With a requirement for more seats, but in keeping with the rest of the fleet we sourced this 2007 B12BT 53 Seat T9 Acron from Simonds Coaches in Diss, Norfolk. Following an early start and collection from Stansted proprietor Ciaran Byrne is seen here collecting the coach from Darren prior to the long journey up to Holyhead and the ferry back to Ireland. Within 24 hours of arriving home the coach was heading back to England on what will become a regular journey for her to Old Trafford with Manchester United supporters. We have recently supplied this Euro 6 compliant Mercedes Benz Sprinter to Central Taxis (North East) Ltd based in Peterhead. This particular minicoach is a coach built example with EVM Avant Garde bodywork with 19 reclining seats with 3 point seat belts, half leather trim, and a large drop well boot. It is one of a number of vehicles to join this fleet recently as part of it’s continued expansion. Seen collecting the little coach from Darren is Paul Anderson, proprietor of Central Taxis. We have just supplied this Euro 6 Mercedes Benz Sprinter 0.516 CDi Unvi Vega GT 22 Seat Minicoach to Falcon Travel of Wakefield. The little coach is fitted with 22 seats with leather headrests and piping, DVD player, forced air ventilation in the saloon with cab air con, and a large drop well boot. Falcon Travel have taken the decision to upgrade as they need a larger capacity vehicle, but also due to their location and distance from Leeds, and the amount of transfers they do to and from Manchester Airport, both of which are potentially due to be affected by Clean Air Zones. Following on from their purchase of a Volvo Olympian earlier in the year, Barway Services Ltd have returned to purchase this Mercedes Atego Unvi Touring. Barway are a large produce farmer in Cambridgeshire and use buses and coaches to transport their workers throughout the fens. When the need arose for a more luxurious vehicle for longer distance transfers they approached us to find something to suit their needs, something that had to be tough enough to handle the rough terrain over which they operate. We sourced this Atego based midicoach from Trafalgar Travel Ltd of Leigh, Greater Manchester who have taken the decision to retire from the business.
