Following on from the purchase of the two Iveco Beulas Carl at Jansen Travel asked me if I could find him a clean tidy 33 seater on a small budget. We obliged by finding this immaculate Mercedes Vario Plaxton Beaver with 33 coach seats. Following a journey over The Pennines to Whitby and a quick inspection a deal was struck and this little beauty headed back to West Cumbria. Alison Burgess, Operations Manager of Jansen Travel commented “I have never had such a neat tidy beaver before. It’s the talk of the depot. All the driver’s can’t wait to get a shot in it!” This little coach will be used mainly on school contracts locally. Following the recent purchase of a 57 Seat B7R Plaxton Profile from Coastal & Country Coaches, 1st Choice Travel of Llanelli, South Wales have returned for 2 more. This time 70 Seaters. Both vehicles are from the Dan’s Luxury Travel fleet in Waltham Abbey, Essex. One is an automatic Volvo B7R, the other a manual Dennis Javelin, and both made the trip along the M4 effortlessly according to Alun Phillips, director of 1st Choice. These are the 5th and 6th vehicles purchased by 1st Choice through ourselves and we thank them for their continued loyalty and support. Hopefully we’re doing something right! To help with newly gained contracts and to update the fleet Jansen Coaches of Frizington, West Cumbria found themselves in need of a 70 seater and this Iveco Eurorider Beulas Stergo E caught their eye. Following a marathon drive down the M6 & M40 to Newbury they viewed this one with a ZF Automatic Gearbox and spotted another identical vehicle with a 8 Speed Manual Gearbox. Following inspection it was decided that both coaches were too good to leave behind so a deal was struck for the pair. Both have been collected over the past couple of weeks and driven back to Cumbria without issue. They are now being prepared in readiness for the schools returning in September. A recent sale has seen this Volvo B7TL Wright Eclipse Gemini Double Decker bus head back to it’s West London roots. This bus started life with Go-Ahead Group at it’s London General company before single door conversion and sale. Recently she has been based in the North West with Selwyn’s and Belle Vue Coaches. She has returned to West London with Horseferry Coaches Ltd who collected her from Stockport following repaint of her bottom panels into red which was carried out in house by Belle Vue Coaches. We have recently supplied this Mercedes Benz Tourino to Navigator Coaches of Ipswich, Suffolk. Mark Maile, director of Navigator is slowly growing his business and has been discussing various vehicles with us. Recently though he settled on this 2007 Executive Tourino supplied by York Pullman. The coach was previously with Skinner’s Coaches in Oxted, Surrey prior to their retirement and was a credit to them. Meridian Coachworks repainted the coach into white with black roof and mirrors and she looks a million dollars. She sailed through an MOT last week ready for collection. The little coach gives a big coach feel with 32 reclining seats, air conditioning, rear floor mounted WC, hot drinks facility, and a fridge. Once again we are 1st choice for one of our regular customers when it comes to purchasing a used vehicle. It’s the 4th time we’ve sourced a coach for 1st Choice Transport in Llanelli, South Wales. This time it was a Volvo B7R Plaxton Profile 57 Seater to fulfil a requirement for a new contract. This particular coach was supplied by Coastal & Country Coaches in Whitby having been new to the Ministry of Defence. This immaculate low mileage coach was presented in pristine condition by Chris and his team at Coastal & Country and our thanks go to them. Also, we would like to wish the best of luck with their new purchase to the guys at First Choice Transport, and thank them for their continued faith and loyal support.
I was contacted recently by Jason Jones of Jone’s Coaches in Herefordshire who was in a predicament. He had a requirement for PSVAR compliant belted service bus but with a high maximum capacity rather than the more usual 42 or 45. The answer, an ex West Yorkshire BMC Condor. This is a vehicle that ticks all the boxes with a seating capacity of 57 with all age 3 point seat belts, full PSVAR compliance, and a tried and tested Cummins / Voith driveline. We were about to advertise this one for sale for Meredith’s Coaches in Malpas, Cheshire but she didn’t make the website. Jason and his Dad Phillip came to inspect the vehicle and it fitted the bill nicely. She’s now down in Herefordshire ready for whatever September brings. I recently had the pleasure of delivering this old lady to her new home in Devon. This veteran double decker has had much love during her life spending the majority of it with Chester’s Coaches in Walkden, Manchester where Harry and Chris ensured she was kept in pristine condition and modernised when required, hence the gull wing mirrors, and front face lift. Following a short spell with Yelloway she is off to a new home by the seaside in Brixham, Devon with Brixham College who have recently found a requirement for a double decker due to social distancing requirements in the coming months due to COVID 19. They couldn’t have chosen a better bus. She is seen here on Taunton Deane Services on the M5 prior to completing the last leg of her journey which included a rather spirited climb up Telegraph Hill on the A380. I can [...]
